Explore the vast beauty of Wilpattu National Park, the largest national park in Sri Lanka, stretching across approximately 130,000 hectares and bordering Mannar, Anuradhapura, and Puttalam. The park is also known for its long coastal stretch and unique natural lakes called “villus,” which serve as important water sources and gathering spots for wildlife.

Wilpattu is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is best explored through guided jeep safaris. The ideal visiting period is from February to October, although the park attracts visitors throughout the year.

During a Wilpattu safari, you can expect to encounter a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, jackals, wild buffalo, spotted deer, mongoose, and many bird species.
